Jared Powell was born and raised on a military base in Southern California. He exited the womb with a fully-automatic assault rifle in hand. As a child he found solace in falling asleep to the beautiful cadence of helicopter blades and the rhythmic sounds of mock bombing runs in the distance. He was born a soldier, raised a soldier, but did not become a soldier. In high school he discovered his love for literature and, seeing as America has not yet utilized a way to kill its enemies with the knowledge of books, he came to Concordia to study English and hopes to teach it one day.
